Shelley Grushkin Returns to Westchester Recorder Guild for a Pop-Up Workshop
Sunday, March 8th from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Open to Upper Intermediate and Advanced Players

"The Art of the Fugue: It isn't all about Bach.
A survey of this form leading up to its great master.
An analysis and execution of these jewels of invention."

Shelley, Karen, EricaShelley performed with the New York Pro Musica for 13 years. He was instrumental in the revival of historical instruments (Renaissance flutes, krumhorns, rauschpfeifes and medieval bagpipes). He is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music and was a member of the Philador Trio for 15 years; President of ARS from 1980-88, ARS Distinguished Achievement Award 1991 and Max H. Lavine Award for Teaching Excellence at College of St. Scholastica (currently Faculty Emeritus). As in past years, you'll play in a group of about 10 people at your level under the tutelage of renowned recorder teachers and performers. Faculty members this year are Lewis Baratz, Valerie Horst, Joan Kimball and Larry Lipnik.

Spring Recorder Workshop with Deborah Booth
Saturday, April 4th, 2020 10:00 am to 5:00 pm

A Festival of English Music Through the Ages Medieval Carols to Renaissance Madrigals, Motets, Dances, and Fantasias. Works by Morley, Byrd, Holborne, Dowland, Gibbons, Bull, and Coperario. Baroque Selections from the famous Londoner, Georg Frederick Handel. Deborah Booth is an active recorder and flute teacher/performer of historical and modern instruments and the co-founder and director of Ensemble BREVE. She has performed with many ensembles and toured extensively throughout the US.
